Which airlines can you transfer Amex points to?

In the US, Membership Rewards points move to sixteen airline programs. Most take them at 1:1 — Delta, British Airways, Air Canada Aeroplan, Flying Blue, ANA, Singapore and Virgin Atlantic among them. Four do not: Cathay Pacific, Emirates and JetBlue give 4 miles for every 5 points, and Aeromexico gives 1.6 points for each one. Etihad left the program on 30 June 2026.

50,000 Amex points to Delta at 1:1 becomes 50,000 miles.

Which hotels can you transfer Amex points to?

Four hotel programs take US Membership Rewards: Choice and Marriott at 1:1, Hilton at 1:2 — two Hilton points for every Amex point — and Leading Hotels of the World, added in July 2026, at 4:1. Because hotel points are worth far less than airline miles, a 1:2 ratio is not the bargain it looks.

How are UK Amex transfer partners different?

UK Membership Rewards is a separate program with its own partner list. Avios — for British Airways, Iberia and Qatar Airways — Virgin Points, Flying Blue, Cathay Pacific, Delta, Qantas and SAS are all 1:1. Singapore is 3:2 and Emirates 2:1, both worse than in the US. Hotels are Hilton at 1:2, Marriott at 2:3 and Radisson at 1:3, and points can also go to Club Eurostar and Nectar. ALL Accor joined in 2026.

What to check before you transfer

Transfers are one-way, so move points only once the award seat or room is available. For most people the strongest use is airline miles at 1:1 — Avios, Virgin Points or Flying Blue — rather than hotel points, and a transfer bonus, when one runs, is the time to do it.

The most common move has its own guide — Amex to Avios — and Avios vs Membership Rewards covers whether to move at all. Membership Rewards points don't expire while you hold an earning card, so there is no reason to transfer early.
