How many points do stays earn?
Stays are the core of Marriott Bonvoy earning. Members earn 10 points for every dollar spent on the room and qualifying charges at most of Marriott's brands, but only 5 at Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites and Element, and 4 at StudioRes. Elite status then adds a percentage on top: 10% for Silver, 25% for Gold, 50% for Platinum and 75% for Titanium and Ambassador.

Marriott's co-brand credit cards earn most when you spend at Marriott — 6 points per $1 on the Boundless, Bountiful and Brilliant cards, 3 on the Bold — and less on everything else.

Which points transfer to Marriott?
In the US, three bank currencies transfer into Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1: American Express Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt; UK Amex points convert at 2 to 3. Because a Marriott point is worth well under a cent, a 1:1 transfer from a bank currency is usually poor value — it makes sense to finish off a specific booking, not to build a balance.

What are Marriott points worth?
A Marriott Bonvoy point is typically worth about 0.73 cents, where the published valuations cluster after the 2026 devaluation, so 50,000 points come to roughly $365.
