400 Nectar points convert to 250 Avios — the base unit of the Nectar–Avios link. Larger amounts scale in the same 400:250 ratio, so 4,000 Nectar becomes 2,500 Avios and 40,000 Nectar becomes 25,000 Avios.

Link your Nectar account to your British Airways Executive Club account once, from either the Nectar or the British Airways site, then convert in either direction whenever you like. You need both accounts in the same name, and conversions are usually credited within a day or two.

Often yes. Nectar points are worth about 0.5p each in standard use, while Avios typically redeem for around 1p and up to 1.7p in premium cabins — so converting can lift the value of your points. It only pays off if you actually have an Avios flight to spend them on; converting speculatively locks value into a currency you then have to use.

Yes. 250 Avios convert to 300 Nectar points, which is handy if you want to spend at Sainsbury's, Argos or other Nectar partners instead of on flights. Note the round trip is not free of loss — converting Nectar to Avios and straight back leaves you with fewer points than you started with, so convert with a purpose.
