The short version

World of Hyatt runs the smallest footprint of the major hotel programs and still publishes a fixed award chart, which makes a point's value easier to predict than its rivals'. Points expire after 24 consecutive months of account inactivity; any earning or redemption resets the clock, and holding a Hyatt credit card keeps the account active.

World of Hyatt is the major hotel program that still publishes a fixed award chart: eight categories and five demand tiers since 20 May 2026. That makes its points easier to value than its rivals'. These guides cover booking award nights, how long a balance lasts, and what a point is typically worth.

Hyatt points usually come from Chase rather than stays. Sapphire Reserve transfers at 1:1, while Sapphire Preferred and Ink Business Preferred move at 4:3 from 1 October 2026. Bilt also transfers in at 1:1. The value calculator prices a night from the chart, so you can compare it with the cash rate before you move a single point.
