What is the Hyatt award chart in 2026?
Since 20 May 2026, every Hyatt hotel sits in one of eight categories, and each category has five prices set by demand on the night: Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper and Top. A Category 1 hotel costs 3,000 to 9,000 points a night; a Category 8 hotel 35,000 to 75,000. Moderate is roughly where the old Standard price sat, and Hyatt says only a limited number of nights move into Upper and Top during 2026.
| Category | Lowest | Low | Moderate | Upper | Top |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Pick a category, a demand tier and the number of nights.
3 nights at a Category 4 hotel on a Moderate date costs 60,000 Hyatt points — 60,000 Chase points from a Sapphire Reserve, or 80,000 from a Sapphire Preferred or Ink Business Preferred.
How do you book a Hyatt award night?
Search hyatt.com or the app for the hotel and dates, signed in, and choose the free-night rate — it shows the points price for each night. Hyatt also lets one stay mix points, free-night certificates and cash across nights. Award nights carry no resort or destination fee, which on a resort stay can be worth more than it sounds.
How does Points + Cash work?
Points + Cash charges exactly half the points of a free night plus a discounted cash rate. It stretches a balance, but Hyatt treats it as a paid night, so resort fees apply unless you are a Globalist.
How do you top up Hyatt points from Chase?
Chase Ultimate Rewards is the main way to top up a Hyatt balance. From a Sapphire Reserve the ratio is 1:1; from a Sapphire Preferred or Ink Business Preferred it is 4:3 — at once for Sapphire Preferred accounts opened from 15 June 2026, and from 1 October 2026 for everyone else on those cards. Move points only once the award night is showing, because transfers can't be reversed.
What Hyatt points are worth tells you whether a night is a good use of them, and Chase transfer partners has the other thirteen places those points can go.
Booking Hyatt award nights — common questions
From 3,000 points at a Category 1 hotel on a Lowest-demand night to 75,000 at a Category 8 hotel on a Top-demand night. The Moderate price, roughly the successor to the old Standard, is 20,000 points a night at Category 4 and 55,000 at Category 8.
From 20 May 2026 each category went from three prices (off-peak, standard, peak) to five (Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper, Top). The bottom got slightly cheaper at some categories, but the Moderate price is higher than the old Standard at most, and the new Top price at Category 8 is 75,000 points against the old 45,000 peak.
Not on stays booked with points or free-night certificates — Hyatt waives resort and destination fees on those. Points + Cash nights are treated as paid, so the fee applies unless you hold Globalist status.
It costs half the points of a free night plus a reduced cash rate, so it makes sense when you are short of points or the cash half is cheap. Compare it against the full-points price at about 1.5 cents a point, and remember the resort fee comes back.

The chart grid comes from AwardWallet; the rows Prince of Travel reports — Categories 1, 4 and 8 — match it exactly, and Hyatt's own release confirms the five tiers and the May 2026 start. The all-inclusive A–F chart is left out because only one source lists it.
Where these numbers come from: Hyatt five redemption levels — Lowest, Low, Moderate, Upper, Top — from May 2026, with “a limited number of nights” moving into Upper and Top in 2026 (25 February 2026); AwardWallet the full chart effective 20 May 2026: Category 1 from 3,000 to 9,000 points a night, Category 8 from 35,000 to 75,000 (9 May 2026); Prince of Travel Category 1 now 3,000 to 9,000 points; Category 4 tops out at 25,000; Category 8 at 75,000 (24 April 2026); Frequent Miler Points + Cash costs “exactly half the points” of a free night plus a discounted cash rate; resort and destination fees are waived on points stays but not on Points + Cash, except for Globalists (27 May 2026); AwardWallet “World of Hyatt doesn't charge resort fees to those on award stays (using points or free night awards)” (27 May 2025). Hyatt can move a hotel between categories and a night between tiers; the price on hyatt.com at booking is the one that counts.
What are Hyatt points worth?
A World of Hyatt point is typically worth about 1.5 cents — the most valuable hotel currency — so 50,000 points come to roughly $750. Published valuations run from 1.4 to 1.8 cents. Low-category hotels land nearer 1.2 cents and top-category stays at busy dates around 2 cents. The calculator converts any Hyatt balance into dollars, pounds and euros.
How many Avios for a flight?
It depends on distance and cabin, not a fixed price. British Airways Club prices rewards in distance bands, so since the December 2025 repricing a short-haul economy reward starts at 10,000 Avios one-way, and business on the same routes runs roughly 16,500 to 26,750. Cash taxes and carrier charges are always extra.
What are Avios worth?
One Avios is typically worth about 1p, the working figure both the UK and US reference valuations settle near, so 10,000 Avios come to roughly £100. Weak via-hub economy redemptions land nearer 0.9p, while long-haul business can reach about 1.7p. The calculator converts any balance into pounds, dollars and euros.
