Chase Ultimate Rewards is a flexible card currency, not an airline or hotel balance. Points do not expire while the card account they sit in stays open, and there is no inactivity clock. Closing that card forfeits them, so move them to another Ultimate Rewards card or redeem them before you close it.

Chase is the main card route into United, Southwest and World of Hyatt, and it also reaches Avios at 1:1 through British Airways, Iberia and Aer Lingus.
